There is a global ambition to end reliance on fossil fuels and invest in alternative sources of energy that are clean, accessible, affordable, sustainable, and reliable. However, rapid population growth and industrialization continues to place a huge demand in the energy sector. The global south is particularly faced by a delicate balance between socio-economic development, industrialization and meeting climate goals.
